Dear readers,
City-zen is coming to an end. In the past five years, no less than 28 partners have been working on 20 pilot projects, aiming for an annual saving of an impressive 59,000 tonnes of CO2. Academics, industries and residents have been brought together to face the challenges of Amsterdam and Grenoble. An integrated methodology has been developed, as have roadmaps to sustainability for both cities.
We gained priceless knowledge, learnings and results that we want to share with a wide range of target audiences, from professional experts to interested citizens. Our final conference was held in Brussels, Belgium on November 14 and 15, 2019. It was an opportunity to tell the story of two cities that have combined forces on their way to carbon neutrality.
Because results are not an end in itself, we would also like to share with you some recommendations from great projects for deployement of similar initiatives on roadmaps, retrofitting, heating and cooling, smart grids, citizen empowerment and dissemination.
You’ll find on our website the latest publications (final booklet, and deliverables) that we hope, will inspire you to consider the many solutions available to tackle climate change in Europe and beyond.
On behalf of the City-zen consortium, we would like to thank you for your support and interest in City-zen. City-zen Coordinators |
