vito_basislogoVITO is an independent research organisation in the Flemish region of Belgium. VITO conducts customer oriented contract research and develops innovative products and processes in the fields of energy, land use, health, chemistry and materials, for both the public and the private sector. VITO provides policy advice for governments, strategic research in collaboration with universities and other research institutes and consultancy services for the industrial and the building sector. Vito is formed by 700 employees with a turnover of around 90 million euro. Central to all projects is the aim to protect the environment and encourage the sustainable use of energy and raw materials.

    A city operating entirely on clean energy. In theory, it's possible. But in real life? How to integrate new solutions in existing buildings, systems and people's lives?
