Established in 2010, the Amsterdam Centre for Energy at the University of Amsterdam is aimed at research and education on the public and private energy sector in the European Union with a specific focus on the interest of the user within the energy system.
The Centre organizes conferences and master classes and publishes articles on themes like the Third Energy Package, smart grids and energy regulators. In an interdisciplinary setting the Centre is aimed to identify research questions relating to energy, energy supply and efficiency, sustainability and contemporary techniques, policy and law.

  • The Project

A city operating entirely on clean energy. In theory, it's possible. But in real life? How to integrate new solutions in existing buildings, systems and people's lives? What are the technical, economic or social barriers? And how to overcome these? That's what we've learned by doing in 20 projects in Grenoble and Amsterdam.
